About ZeroJS
The story and philosophy behind ZeroJS — a commitment to hyper-fast, accessible, and durable web craftsmanship.

The Mission
The modern web has grown bloated. In recent years, simple content websites routinely ship multiple megabytes of client-side JavaScript bundles just to display text and images. This trend leads to sluggish load times on mobile networks, degraded battery life, fragile hydration mismatches, and unnecessary barriers to accessibility.
ZeroJS was founded as a design statement and technical manifesto: web content should be fast, accessible, and resilient by default. By eliminating unnecessary client-side JavaScript from static pages, we return to the core strengths that made the open web great.
Why Zero JavaScript?
- Instant First Paint: Browsers parse and paint pure HTML and CSS faster than any runtime can execute. Zero JavaScript means your content appears without the "white screen of death" or layout shifts.
- Unbreakable Reliability: Content rendered with standard HTML doesn't break if a third-party script fails to load, a network connection drops mid-bundle, or a browser disables JavaScript.
- Global Accessibility: Low-spec devices and cellular networks around the world can view and navigate ZeroJS without lag or heavy battery drain.
- Carbon & Energy Efficiency: Transmitting less data and running fewer CPU cycles directly reduces energy consumption on both servers and client devices.
The Architecture
ZeroJS is powered by modern web tooling, deliberately configured for maximum performance:
- Astro 7+ — For blazing-fast static site compilation and component-driven authoring.
- Native CSS — Modular design tokens and CSS custom properties with zero runtime style overhead.
- Type-Safe Content Collections — Markdown and MDX authoring with strict schema validation.
- Automatic Image Optimization — Next-gen responsive WebP formats generated at compile time.
Open Web Standards
We believe in the open web. ZeroJS is fully syndication-friendly with native RSS feeds, semantic HTML5 tags, standard sitemaps, and zero vendor lock-in.
